Apeejay College of Fine Arts held 49th Annual Prize Distribution Function

Jalandhar April 20 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar that is known for providing quality education held 49th Annual Prize Distribution Function to honour and applaud the hardwork, dedication, persistence of students who had achieved excellence in Academics, Sports, Youth Festival and have performed exceptionally in their respective fields.

The Chief Guest of the day was Mrs. Balvinder Kaur, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, CBDT, Govt. of India. She was warmly welcomed by Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal, ACFA under whose directions and guidance, the entire event took place. She also welcomed Mr. Nirmal Mahajan (Member, Board of Governors), Dr. Rajesh Bagga (Director, Apeejay Institute of Management), Mrs. Sangeeta Nistandra (Principal, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg) and Mr. A.K. Sharma(Principal, Apeejay School, Ramamandi).

Dr. Dhingra read the Annual report of Session 2023-24

On this occasion, Dr. Dhingra read the Annual report of Session 2023-24 where she first saluted the spirit of Founder Chairman Late Dr. Stya Paul Ji who had such farsighted vision to establish an institute dedicated to fine arts. She also expressed her gratitude for the infinite guidance extended by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (President, Apeejay Education). In the report, Dr. Dhingra shared the College profile, the achievements of exceptional students in different competitions and fields and about the seminars, conferences and other academic and non- academic activities conducted through out the session.

She also shared with the august gathering that in the academic session 2023-24, the college is proud to share that 44 students had stood 1st, 36 students had clinched 2nd position and 04 students grabbed the 3rd position in University examinations conducted by GNDU, Amritsar. Other than this, 69 students were honoured for their exceptional performances in Zonal, Inter Zonal Youth festival and also performing and winning in North Zone and Nationals. Also, 36 students who had performed exceptionally in their respective fields and 24 students for their achievements in Sports were honoured on this occasion.

It is noteworthy that students who had performed and won at National scale in Youth Festivals performed on this day and added charm on this occasion and won received appreciation frol the audience. The students of national winners did Indian Classical Dance, sung Indian Group Song and Group Dance.

Mrs. Balvinder Kaur expressed her gratitude for being present in the college and she said that she is glad to see an institute which is promoting and preserving the culture and connecting the students with tradition and culture. Advising the students, she said that they shall always remember to contribute something in the society and give it back along with rising and shining in their personal lives. She also congratulated Dr. Dhingra for the organizing the event at such mega scale successfully.

Dr. Dhingra presented a memento to Mrs. Balvinder Kaur as a token of love and gratitude. She also presented the mementos to the other guests. She acknowledged and admired the efforts of the organisers of the event – Dr. Arun Mishra, Dr. Amita Mishra, Ms. Meera Aggarwal and Dr. Roopali Sood.
