Jalandhar February 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Apeejay College of Fine Arts commemorated World Radio Day with an academic visit to 94.3 My FM, offering students first-hand exposure to the art and mechanics of radio broadcasting.

At the station, RJ Reet and RJ Deepal conducted an engaging interactive session, acquainting students with studio operations, voice modulation techniques, content curation, audience engagement strategies, and the technical framework of live broadcasting. They elaborated on scripting, sound engineering, timing precision, and the collaborative coordination that sustains seamless transmission.

Students actively observed the workflow of the station and created short reels and vlogs reflecting their experiential learning. They also participated in insightful discussions with the RJs on contemporary media trends, ethical journalism, and evolving career avenues in broadcasting.

Radio is not merely a platform

RJ Reet remarked, “Radio is not merely a platform; it is a powerful emotional bridge that connects voices to hearts. Effective communication is the soul of this medium.”

RJ Deepal added, “Behind every broadcast lies meticulous planning, technical precision, and teamwork. Understanding this process empowers aspiring media professionals to appreciate the discipline the industry demands.”

The visit proved to be intellectually enriching and professionally motivating, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world media practices.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while expressing her thoughts, stated, “At Apeejay College of Fine Arts, our objective is to ensure that students receive experiential exposure aligned with their academic pursuits. Practical learning complements classroom instruction and equips learners with confidence, clarity, and competence.”

She appreciated the dedicated efforts of Ms. Ritu Sohal, Dr. Nivedita Khosla, and Mr. Mohit from Department of Journalism and Mass Communication for organizing the visit and mentoring the students.
