Jalandhar July 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Rajeshwari Kala Utsav was organized at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul Ji, the first lady of Apeejay Stya Group. It was her keen interest towards fine arts that inspired our Founder President Stya Paul Ji to lay the foundation of Rajeshwari Kala Sangam.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra read the message of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Apeejay Education.
Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia said in her message that “My father, the founder president of Apeejay Education, and my mother, Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul, are not only lovers of various forms of art but they had made relentless efforts to preserve, promote and spread Indian art and culture. She added that my mother, Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul an excellent Kathak dancer and an expert in swimming.

It was she only who became the inspiration to establish Rajeshwari Kala Sangam to promote and popularise art among the masses and the same institute is today flourishing as Apeejay College of Fine Arts and playing a vital role in fulfilling the dreams of the young. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressing her views on this occasion said that not only our teachers but also the students are imbibing the heritage of Dr. Stya Paul Ji and Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji who are continuously working hard and spreading the fragrance of art all over India.
On this occasion, students of Department of Music – Shivam, Deepali, Nargis, Diya, Sahil, Sagar and Manmeet enthralled everyone with their soothing bhajans. Sehaj Deep Singh and Amandeep Singh, students of Department of Music Instrumental presented a musical presentation on Raaga Pelu. Also, Lavisha (a student of B.Com.) recited a poem having theme of women power. Akshat (a student of B.A.) presented his views on the topic ‘Wonderful contribution of Women in the society’.
On this occasion, an art exhibition was also organized by the college students in the memory of the First Lady and they were also honored with the certificates. Gargi, a students of B. Voc. Contemporary Form of Dance paid homage to Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji by giving a spectacular presentation of Indian Classical dance. Dr. Simkee Dev from the Department of Economics conducted the stage gracefully.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra, Advisor Cultural Affairs and DrAmita Mishra, Dean, Youth Affairs and Dr. Monica Anand for the immense success of this event.
