Jalandhar November 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The halls of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya buzzed with enthusiasm and inspiration as esteemed members of the Advisory Committee convened for a meeting chaired by Dr. Garima Gupta, Scientist F from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), with Dr. Partap Pati, Professor and Head of the Department of Biotechnology at GNDU Amritsar, serving as the External Member. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen and DBT STAR Scheme Coordinator Dr. Anjana Bhatia warmly welcomed the Advisory Committee and departmental coordinators to discuss and evaluate ongoing and future initiatives under the DBT STAR Scheme.

In her welcome address, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended heartfelt greetings to the dignitaries, setting the stage for insightful discussions. Dr. Anjana Bhatia presented an impressive progress report on the DBT STAR Scheme, highlighting significant advancements in scientific research and educational initiatives.

Dr. Partap Pati actively engaged with the committee, raising pertinent questions on key performance indicators and benchmarks achieved under the DBT STAR Scheme, to which Dr. Bhatia provided detailed insights.

Dr. Garima Gupta encouraged faculty members to embrace impactful research

In a compelling address, Dr. Garima Gupta encouraged faculty members to embrace impactful research that addresses societal challenges. She talked about DBT Biomanufacturing and Bio3 policies, urging faculty to explore these avenues. “Scientific research should be more than knowledge-building; it must serve society,” Dr. Gupta stated, igniting a spark among faculty and students alike. She motivated everyone to actively contribute towards advancing science, research, and innovation.

The committee members visited various departments, where Dr. Gupta personally interacted with students engaged in research projects and experimental work. Her words of encouragement resonated deeply with the students, sparking enthusiasm to pursue innovative solutions.

The meeting concluded on a high note, with a shared vision for harnessing the DBT STAR Scheme to its fullest potential. On the occasion, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics & Head Zoology Department, Mrs. Deepshikha, Head Chemistry Department, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Head Computer Science Department, Dr. Saloni Sharma, Head Physics Department, Dr. Jitender Kumar, Head Biotechnology Department, Dr. Gagandeep, Head Mathematics Department and Dr. Harpreet Singh, Head Bioinformatics Department were also present.
