The Hidden Cost

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Shriya Maini put forth that since childhood as she had personally faced some health challenges, this encouraged me to pursue the research on the healthy eating habits. She added that fasting in our Indian culture has the foundation of science. Talking of Navratris, she put forth that they come when the seasons transit and it is the time where people eat other grains than wheat and rice. This certainly aids to one’s digestion system.

Ms. Maini emphasised that one strictly needs to eliminate refined food in all forms from their diet as they tend to be extremely harmful for our bodies and rather adopt the usage of desi ghee, mustard oil, coconut oil etc.

The take away from the session was that one can start living a healthy life from our homes. For instance, we can grow green vegetables at home and thus begin to take care of our nutritious intake.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra while expressing her views on the significance of this topic said that today we are falling prey to many diseases due to our wrong and convenient eating habits and we certainly need to become more alert and conscious while consuming food.
