Jalandhar February 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Fashion Makeover of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organized a one-day workshop on ‘Nail Art & Designs for the students of Fashion Makeover and B.Voc. Cosmetology. The Resource speaker of this workshop was Ms. Sehajman Kaur, an alumnus of the college, who is a luxury press on nail artist and educator and is the owner of ‘The Nail Therapy’ studio in Jalandhar.
Addressing the students, Ms. Sehajman Kaur spoke about the techniques, tools, essential products that are used for the nail art and what are the latest trends that are popular and in demand amongst the clients these days. She also made students aware about the disorders and diseases of nails. Along with this she shared how to attend clients while running their own salon and provide them satisfactory services.
During the workshop, the significance of grooming and hygiene of nails were also discussed and the details of essential products were talked of that help one to keep the nails in healthy condition. Ms. Kaur emphasized that our lifestyle and diet also play a vital role in this.

On the importance and relevance of this workshop, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra opined that Practical exposure in college courses is essential for bridging the gap between theory and real-world application for it enhances understanding, develops critical skills, boosts employability, and fosters innovation. Moreover, Hands-on experience builds confidence, improves retention, and facilitates a smoother transition from academia to industry and by integrating practical learning through such workshops, students gain valuable problem-solving abilities and real-life insights, making them better prepared for professional challenges.
Dr. Dhingra emphaised that keeping this in mind here at Apeejay, we ensure that our students get maximum exposure when it comes to learning through practical work.
She also praised the efforts of Ms. Meenal Sandhu of Department of Fashion Makeover for successfully organizing the workshop.
