Jalandhar October 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Design, Fine Arts and Fashion Makeover of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar collaboratively organised Diwali Mela. Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar was present as the Chief Guest on this occasion. Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) warmly welcomed Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Dr. Sucharita Sharma (Director, Apeejay Education).
Putting forth her views on this day, Dr. Dhingra said, ” Diwali Mela is one of the best platforms for students to showcase the creativity, artistic skills, marketing skills and our students eagerly wait for throughout the year for this.
Expressing his views about the various stalls put up by the students, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said, ” Organizing a Diwali Fair is certainly a commendable way as it provides students a platform to showcase their imagination and creativity. He also said that the stalls set up by the students of interior design, wood craft carving, handmade products like lamps, clocks, home decoration products can be used as gifts given on Diwali. He also said that, “I will try that the administration gives projects to students to make such gifts which helps students to further improve their skills.”
In the Diwali fair, the students had set up designer furniture, wood crafts, decorative products, photo booths, paintings, frames, nail art, artificial jewellery, cushion covers, block printing kurtas and dupattas, wax candles and various types of food stalls.
The students and teachers of the college enjoyed a lot at Diwali fair. Dr. Dhingra praised the efforts of Ms. Rajni Gupta, Ms. Rajni Kumar and Dr. Gagan Gambhir for successfully organizing this Diwali fair and encouraged them to continue inspiring the students to keep up their creative work and develop their skills.
