Talented KMVites were honoured during the celebrations
Jalandhar March 3 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a colourful program to celebrate Women Leadership on International Women’s Day in a series of events organised to mark the celebrations of KMV’s legacy of 140 Glorious years. Mrs Gurjot Kaur, Senior Executive, Ajit Group of Publications was the chief guest for the occasion. In this event, students of the college were honoured who have carved a niche for themselves in various echelons of professional life. Welcoming all the eminent guests, Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated all achievers on International Women’s Day and elucidated on the enviable status and transformative role played by women in nation building at the global level.
She averred that women in all walks of life have set benchmarks with their formidable achievements by playing their roles with full dedication, devotion and diligence.True to its vision and mission, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has been playing a pivotal role in nurturing Women leaders by empowering them through higher education across three centuries, hence created an iconic status for itself. The chief guest Mrs. Gurjot Kaur motivated the students to dedicate all efforts sincerely in actualizing their real-self till their goal is achieved.

Describing the student life as the golden period in one’s life, she urged the young scholars to equip themselves with all types of skills, soft and life skills during their academic pursuit so that they can play a constructive role in the progression of society and Nation, at large as true torch bearers of KMV’s glorious legacy. It is noteworthy that during the event, Mrs. Gurjot Kaur was honoured by KMV with the Pride of KMV Award for her valuable contribution towards social development.
Along with this, students from various fields were also honoured with KMV Budding Star Award. Dr. Poonam Sharma, Head, PG Department of Music were also honoured on this occasion. A colourful show of modelling presented by the students depicting the women leaders in various fields of the society also won the hearts of all present. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Gurjot Kaur, Dean, ECA, Mrs Amarpreet Khurana & the whole organising committee for organising this event successfully.
