Jalandhar November 4 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar added another glorious chapter to its legacy of cultural and literary excellence by lifting the Second Runners-up Trophy at the Guru Nanak Dev University Zonal Youth Festival 2026. The institution registered an impressive performance, winning 28 positions across various competitive events. HMV secured five first positions, fourteen second positions and nine third positions in various events at the GNDU Zonal Youth Festival 2026.
It stood first in Debate (English), Quiz, Group Shabad, Kawishri and Poster Making. It secured second position in Elocution (English), Poetical Symposium, Elocution (Hindi/Punjabi), Debate (Punjabi/Hindi), Group Song, Western Vocal Solo, Western Group, Classical Vocal, Mime, Cartooning, Collage, Pakhi, Chikku and Nukkad Natak. HMV also won third position in Folk Orchestra, Geet/Gazal, Western Instrumental Solo, Classical Instrument Non Percussion, One Act Play, Classical Dance, Painting, Tokri and Mehandi.
Congratulating the students on their outstanding performance, Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla appreciated their dedication, confidence and capabilities. She remarked that such achievements are a matter of immense pride for the institution and reflect the holistic educational environment at HMV, where students are encouraged to explore their talents, develop their intellectual abilities and excel beyond the classroom.
She also lauded the consistent efforts of the Youth Welfare Department in providing students with opportunities, guidance and the right platform to nurture their potential. Dr. Khosla extended her heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ashmeen Kaur , Dean, Youth Welfare, Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Co Dean, Dr. Mamta, Senior most Faculty, the In Charges and all the members of the Youth Welfare Department for their tireless efforts in guiding the students towards this remarkable achievement.
