Jalandhar September 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The ‘Ad-Mad Show‘ was grandly organized by the MAC Forum of the PG Department of Commerce and Management at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. Sharing her views on the occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra stated that the primary objective of the Ad-Mad Show is to foster creativity, expression skills, an understanding of marketing, and team spirit among the students. Through this activity, students learn the art of conceptualizing and presenting advertisements for products, services, or social messages, as well as the techniques to attract consumers.
This show introduces students to the nuances of the advertising world—including branding, tagline creation, and presentation skills—thereby fostering self-confidence, the ability to convey messages with wit and humor, and a professional outlook. In the event, teams from the Department of Commerce and Management presented their entries: “Yam Hai Hum” highlighted the losses incurred from purchasing insurance from the wrong provider versus the importance of choosing the right one; “Cheen Tapak Dam Dam” depicted a scenario where a trivial issue was blown out of proportion before eventually leading to a solution, offering a valuable lesson in the process.
“The Notorious Gang” highlighted the ease of learning any language through AI; the “GenZ Mehkma” team satirized today’s youth through fictional products like “Dhamaka Digest Goli,” “GPT Paaji,” and “Fun Perfume”; and the “Bhoru Gang” humorously advertised their slippers, showcasing footwear capable of sustaining relationships and overcoming every hurdle. Dr. Kamini Singla Gupta—a college alumna, PhD holder in Commerce, Chartered Accountant, and trained Kathak dancer, and Dr. Krantipal Singh—who has an established reputation in theatre and film direction at both state and national levels—served as judges for the Ad-Mad Show.
