Jalandhar July 20 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised an Orientation Programme to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and acquaint them with the institution’s academic culture, achievements, and opportunities for holistic development.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that under the visionary leadership and inspiration of the college’s Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul, the institution has consistently achieved excellence in academics, culture, and co-curricular activities. She added that Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson of Apeejay Education, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, along with Dr. Neha Berlia, Lead – Education Vertical, Apeejay Education, and Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, firmly believe that the purpose of education extends far beyond earning a degree. Every student should be provided with opportunities that nurture individual talent and contribute to all-round personality development.
Dr. Dhingra explained the essence of APEE JAY, stating that it stands for ‘A’ – Academics, ‘P’ – Placement, and ‘EE’ – Excellence in Education, reflecting the institution’s commitment to providing quality education and preparing students for a bright and successful future.

Encouraging the freshers to make the most of their college years, she remarked that college life is significantly different from school life and offers the foundation on which future careers and personalities are built. She advised students to utilise every moment productively, remain disciplined, and work consistently towards achieving their goals.
She further motivated the students to become active members of various campus bodies, including NSS, NCC, Students’ Council Association (SCA), Literary Club, IT Forum, and MAC Forum. Stressing the importance of co-curricular participation, Dr. Dhingra said that true education is not limited to completing the syllabus and passing examinations; it also involves building confidence, leadership skills, and a well-rounded personality through active involvement in extracurricular activities. She also encouraged students to make the college library an integral part of their daily routine.
Highlighting the institution’s remarkable achievements, Dr. Dhingra informed the students that Apeejay College of Fine Arts has remained the Champion of Guru Nanak Dev University Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth Festivals for the past 26 consecutive years. She noted that the college’s students have also brought laurels at the North Zone and National Youth Festivals, and urged the freshers to participate enthusiastically in cultural and creative activities according to their interests and talents.
During the programme, Dr. Supreet Talwar, Head of the Department of Economics, and Ms. Rajni Kumar also addressed the students. They familiarised the freshers with the college’s rich legacy and achievements and encouraged them to remain dedicated, hardworking, and focused on excellence throughout their academic journey.
