Jalandhar June 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, renowned for fostering holistic development and nurturing responsible citizens, organized a Cycle Rally under the Fit India Movement to promote physical fitness, environmental consciousness, and healthy living among the youth. The rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 20 NCC cadets under the guidance of Colonel R.S. Lehel, Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC.
The Fit India Movement, launched by the Honourable Prime Minister of India on 29 August 2019, seeks to make fitness an integral part of everyday life and inspire citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles. In alignment with this vision, the NCC cadets, led by ANO Major Priya Mahajan, actively participated in the rally and spread the message that fitness is not merely an activity but a lifelong commitment.
Cycling, one of the most effective and environmentally sustainable forms of exercise, was chosen as the medium to underscore the importance of regular physical activity while encouraging eco-friendly modes of transportation. Through their spirited participation, the cadets highlighted how simple lifestyle choices can contribute significantly to personal well-being as well as environmental conservation.

The event concluded with a pledge by the cadets to incorporate fitness into their daily lives and inspire others to adopt healthy and environmentally responsible practices.
