Jalandhar January 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Student Council of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, along with the PG Department of Music, celebrated Basant Utsav with great zeal, colour, and cultural fervour under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla. The students celebrated the arrival of spring and paid homage to Indian tradition and heritage. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the diya before Goddess Saraswati by Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla, seeking blessings for wisdom, learning, and enlightenment. The campus was immersed in a festive ambience as faculty members, staff, and students adorned themselves in vibrant yellow attire, symbolising energy, positivity, and renewal.

Adding joy and excitement to the occasion, kite flying was organised, engaging students and creating a lively atmosphere. The students of the PG Department of Music mesmerised the audience with soulful musical performances under the guidance of Dr. Prem Sagar, Head, PG Department of Music. The Student Council prepared and distributed yellow sweet rice as prasad, among all, enhancing the traditional flavour of the celebration. Addressing the students, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla highlighted the significance of Basant Utsav as a celebration of positivity, creativity, and cultural harmony, encouraging students to remain rooted in traditions while embracing progress.

The event was graced by the presence of Dean Academics Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Youth Welfare Dr. Navroop, members of the Student Council including Mr. Pardeep Mehta, Dr. Kajal Puri, Mrs. Jyotika Minhas, Dr. Jiwan Devi, Ms. Harmanu, and Dr. Deepali, along with other faculty members. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Protima Mander. Through graceful dance performances and melodious music, students invoked the vibrant spirit of spring, making the celebration a memorable and enriching experience for all.
