Jalandhar January 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar hosted a four-day Mobile Training Programme in collaboration with Saksham Punjab, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the empowerment of persons with visual impairment. The programme aimed at strengthening digital accessibility and independent mobile usage skills among visually impaired students. The Wi-Fi enabled training lab of HMV provided an inclusive and supportive learning environment where participants received intensive hands-on training in using mobile phones for communication, education, and everyday digital needs.
As part of the initiative, students were provided mobile phones along with Bluetooth keyboards on a subsidized basis, enabling them to navigate technology with confidence and independence. The accommodation of outstation students, was facilitated at Dera Pritam Bhawan, Gopal Nagar, Jalandhar, under the kind guidance of Swami Shanta Nand Ji, Head Guru of the Dera. The programme concluded with a valedictory session on December 26, graced by Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Khosla distributed mobile devices to the students and motivated them to harness technology as a powerful tool for self-reliance, education, and personal growth. On this occasion, Head of Music (V) Department Dr. Prem Sagar and Head of Psychology Department Dr. Ashmeen Kaur were also present. Saksham Punjab expressed heartfelt gratitude to HMV for its unwavering support and infrastructure, and to the Mittal Family, BSF Colony, Jalandhar, for their generous contribution of daily tea and lunch for the students throughout the programme.
