Lyallpur Khalsa College Students Receive Scholarships from Jatt Sikh Council

Jalandhar December 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, while providing scholarships to needy and meritorious students, also encourages various non-governmental organizations to provide scholarships to its students. Under this, a scholarship of Rs. 80 thousand was given by “The Jatt Sikh Council (Regd.)” to 10 needy and meritorious students of various institutions of Lyallpur Khalsa College, out of which 8 students were flood-affected and 2 students were academically excellent.

Dr. H. S. Mann (President Jatt Sikh Council), S. Jaspal Singh Waraich (Joint Secretary College Governing Council), S. Sukhbahar Singh (Secretary Jatt Sikh Council), Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Sardarni Jagwinder Kaur Deol (Member Jatt Sikh Governing Council) and S. Sukhwinder Singh Lali (Founder Member Jatt Sikh Council) together gave an amount of Rupees 80 thousand as scholarships to the students of various institutions of Lyallpur Khalsa College.

On this occasion, Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur said that this initiative of ‘The Jatt Sikh Council’ is very commendable. This act of generosity not only helps the needy students with financial assistance, but also provide a encouragement to study further and inculcate human values. She added that such aid for needy students is the biggest service to boost their morale. It is worth mentioning that the Jatt Sikh Council has been giving this scholarship to the students of the college for a long time. The members of the council assured that they will keep contributing for the welfare of meritorious and needy students in the future as well.
