Jalandhar September 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- At Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, inspired by the vision of its Founder Chairman Dr. Stya Paul and encouraged by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, students are consistently made aware of the significance of various days of observance. Not only are they introduced to the importance of each occasion, but through meaningful activities, they also experience its true essence.
As part of this endeavour, the Department of Physiotherapy celebrated World Physiotherapy Day by taking students to Pingla Ghar, where they spent time with its residents engaging them in interactive activities. They also distributed essential items, sweets, and nutritious snacks to bring joy and comfort to them.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed her thoughts, stating:
“Our aim is to provide students not only with academic knowledge in the classroom but the right exposure that instills confidence and prepares them to build successful careers in their field. Equally important is sensitising them towards society. By visiting Pingla Ghar, our students witness the realities of those who lack the basic necessities of life. Such experiences awaken compassion and inspire them to extend a helping hand, thus fulfilling their human responsibility. True education must nurture both professional excellence and a humane spirit.”
Dr. Dhingra further appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Katyal, Head, Department of Physiotherapy, and Dr. Neetika Gupta, for organising the visit. She expressed hope that similar socially constructive initiatives would continue in the future, shaping students into professionals who uphold the values of empathy, service, and humanity.
