Jalandhar August 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, expresses profound grief on the passing of Lord Swraj Paul (1931–2025), an eminent industrialist, philanthropist, and parliamentarian, and the younger brother of the revered Founder Chairman of Apeejay Education, Dr. Stya Paul Ji.
Expressing her condolences, Principal, Dr. NeerjaDhingra, said that Lord Swraj Paul Ji was a distinguished Indian-origin industrialist, a generous philanthropist, and a Labour politician based in the United Kingdom. In 1996, he was elevated as a Life Peer and entered the House of Lords as Baron Paul of Marylebone, City of Westminster.
She further added that Lord Paul’s compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to social service made him a guiding force for the entire Apeejay family. His values, humility, and dedication to society will remain an everlasting source of inspiration.
Dr. Dhingra also shared that the Hon’ble Prime Minister ShriNarendraModiJi expressed his condolences on Lord Paul’s demise, acknowledging his immense contributions to industry, philanthropy, and public service, as well as his efforts in strengthening Indo-UK ties.
Highlighting his association with the institution, Dr. Dhingra remarked that Lord Swraj Paul Ji had a special attachment to Apeejay College of Fine Arts and always expressed happiness in witnessing its growth in the field of fine arts. She said that although he is no longer with us physically, his blessings and ideals will continue to guide the college on the path of progress and excellence.
