Jalandhar August 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The young athletes of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, Loharan and Cantt. Jandiala Road campuses brought laurels to their alma mater with their spectacular performance in the 69th PSEB Zonal Athletic Meet (Boys) held at Sports College, Kapurthala Road.
From Green Model Town (GMT): Dakshpreet Singh – Gold Medal in U-14 Shot-put, Vansh – Gold Medal in U-17 Hammer Throw, Ishant Sharma – Silver Medal in U-17 Hammer Throw, Keshav Kapoor – Gold Medal in U-19 Hammer Throw, Aneez Mahajan – Silver Medal in U-19 Hammer Throw, Saket Sharma – Bronze Medal in U-17 Discus Throw, A total of five students from GMT have been selected for the District Athletic Meet. From Loharan, Gyan Singh stole the show by winning two Gold Medals in U-14 events — 100m Sprint Race and 200m Sprint Race.
He has also been selected for the District tournament. From Cantt.-Jandiala Road , the students won different positions, in Long jump, Sochat Singh u -14 (silver medal), Ranbir Singh Bains, U- 17 (silver medal) and Harshil Sood, U- 14 bronze medal.
Dr. Anup Bowry, Chairman of Innocent Hearts, congratulated the winners and lauded the dedicated efforts of the Sports Department in grooming young talent. Principal Mr. Rajeev Paliwal( Green Model Town) and Ms. Shallu Sehgal ( Loharan), Mrs Sonali Arora( CJR) congratulated the winners and wished them good luck for their bright future . They thanked Sports Coordinator, Mr. Sanjeev Bhardwaj, for his perseverance and consistent guidance that led to this success.
